Adding recommenders on the Common App

Hey there! I'm kind of stuck on the Common App's recommenders section. I've got a few teachers who I'd like to invite as recommenders. How do I go about adding them, and can I invite them directly through the Common App itself?

Hello! To invite recommenders on the Common App, just follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your Common App account and go to the "My Colleges" tab.

2. Click on the name of the college you're applying to from the list of colleges you've added.

3. Navigate to the "Recommenders and FERPA" section of the specific college application.

4. You'll see categories for different recommenders (such as Teacher, Counselor, or Other). Click "Invite Recommender" in the appropriate category.

5. Fill in the required information for your recommender, including their name, email address, and a personal note or message (optional but recommended).

6. Click "Send Invitation" to invite your recommender to submit a recommendation letter on your behalf through the Common App.

The invitation will be sent directly to your recommender's email address with instructions on how to submit their recommendation through the Common App platform. Keep in mind that each college may have specific requirements for the number and types of recommenders, so be sure to check those before sending invitations. Don't hesitate to reach out to your teachers to make sure they received the invitation, and consider giving them a friendly reminder as the submission deadline approaches. Good luck with your applications!
