What makes a good Ross artifact?

Hi everyone! I'm working on my Ross business portfolio for my application to University of Michigan, and I need to choose an artifact that represents an aspect of my personality or values. I'm having trouble deciding what to pick! If anyone has any ideas or examples of what has worked for them, I'd love to hear about it! Thank you!

Hey there! When choosing a Ross artifact for your business portfolio, you want to pick something that holds personal significance and clearly represents a unique aspect of your personality, values, or interests. Ideally, it should be something that sets you apart from other applicants and offers insight into who you are beyond your transcripts and essays.

For instance, if you're passionate about sustainability and social entrepreneurship, you might choose a photograph of a project you completed that utilized recycled materials or a small-scale business you started to address a social issue in your community. Another example could be selecting sheet music from a piece you composed if music greatly influences your decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Consider your personal qualities, interests, and experiences, and think about how they connect to your future goals or tie into your passion for business. Your artifact doesn't have to be directly related to business, but if you can showcase your skills or values in a way that speaks to your fit for the Ross program, you'll be on the right track.

Just make sure to explain the connection between your artifact and the aspect of your personality or values you want to highlight in the accompanying description. Be authentic and creative in demonstrating how the artifact represents you, and don't be afraid to think outside the box!
