Texas State Assured Admission

Hello, I recently came across the term 'assured admission' in relation to Texas State. Can someone please explain what this means and what are the requirements to be eligible for it? I'd like to know if I have a fair chance of getting in. Thanks in advance!

Hello! Assured admission is a feature offered by some universities, including Texas State, which guarantees admission to applicants who meet certain eligibility criteria. These criteria generally include minimum GPA and test score requirements. Meeting these specific requirements means that you'll be automatically admitted to the school. However, remember that being accepted into the university does not guarantee admission to specific majors or programs, which may have additional requirements.

For Texas State, the assured admission criteria (at the time of writing this response) are based on your class rank and ACT or SAT scores. Here is a brief overview:

- Top 25% of your graduating class: You are assured admission without needing to submit SAT or ACT scores

- Second 25% of your graduating class: You need a minimum SAT score of 1090 (ERW and Math combined) or a minimum ACT composite score of 22.

- Third 25% of your graduating class: You need a minimum SAT score of 1250 (ERW and Math combined) or a minimum ACT composite score of 26.

- Bottom 25% of your graduation class: You need a minimum SAT score of 1330 (ERW and Math combined) or a minimum ACT composite score of 29.

If you fall within these categories and meet the required SAT or ACT scores, you will be eligible for assured admission into Texas State. However, I'd recommend verifying this information on the Texas State admissions website or reaching out to their admissions office, as criteria may change over time.

If you do not meet the assured admission criteria, don't worry! You can still apply to Texas State, and your application will be reviewed holistically, which means they'll take other factors like extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation into account. So even if you don't receive assured admission, you can still showcase your strengths and dedication through a well-rounded application.
