Hi there! I'm glad you're considering two excellent schools for your biology major and pre-med track. Let me give you some pointers to help you decide:

1. Rankings and Programs: For biology, University of Georgia (UGA) is generally considered to be a stronger program, as it's ranked higher in terms of research output and overall program quality. Additionally, UGA has a medical partnership with Augusta University, which can provide unique resources and opportunities for its pre-med students.

2. Campus Life: UGA is located in Athens, Georgia, a college town with a population of around 120,000 which is especially known for its vibrant, eclectic music scene. UGA has a lively campus atmosphere with strong school spirit, and it's part of the SEC, so sports, especially football, are a big deal - in fact, the football team won back-to-back national championships in 2022 and 2023. Auburn is located in Auburn, Alabama - a smaller college town with a population of around 60,000, so life tends to be more centered on campus. Auburn also has a passionate SEC sports culture, with the Iron Bowl rivalry game against the University of Alabama being a particular highlight every fall. Both universities offer a variety of clubs, organizations, and activities to suit every student's interests.

3. Research Opportunities: Both universities have extensive research facilities, but UGA is particularly renowned for its resources in ecology and genetics research. On the other hand, Auburn is known for its veterinary program and research opportunities in that field.

4. Cost of Attendance: Compare the cost of attending UGA and Auburn based on in-state/out-of-state tuition, scholarships, and financial aid packages they might offer you. Also keep in mind how the cost of living in Athens vs. Auburn and might affect your budget.

5. Alumni Network: Both UGA and Auburn have strong alumni networks, but UGA's network might be more extensive for those pursuing medicine, given its aforementioned partnership with Augusta University. However, connecting with alumni from both universities might be useful in understanding more concretely what opportunities await you after graduation.

6. Visit Both Campuses: If possible, visit both campuses to get a feel for the atmosphere, culture, and surroundings. Being at each school in person might help you envision where you’d feel more comfortable spending the next four years.

Ultimately, it's essential to identify where you feel the best fit, both academically and personally. Keep in mind factors like location, campus environment, research opportunities, resources for pre-med students, and cost during your decision-making process. Good luck in choosing the right school for you!
