University of Colorado vs Colorado State

I really love Colorado and I'm trying to decide between the University of Colorado and Colorado State. Can anyone tell me about their experiences and what separates the two schools academically and socially?

I've researched and talked with students from both schools so I can give you a general comparison of the two. Keep in mind, individual experiences can vary!

Academically, the University of Colorado (CU) in Boulder tends to be more research-focused and has a stronger reputation in fields like engineering, aerospace, and environmental sciences. Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins is well known for its veterinary medicine, natural resources, and agricultural programs. Both schools offer a wide range of majors, so it depends on your area of interest.

In terms of campus culture, CU Boulder has a lively social scene, with various clubs and organizations to engage in. The city of Boulder is beautiful, nestled against the mountains, and offers many outdoor activities like hiking and biking, for nature enthusiasts. CU Boulder is also notorious for its football games, with spirited tailgating and a passionate student body. However, party culture is present, and it's worth considering if that's something you're comfortable with.

On the other hand, CSU's campus in Fort Collins is slightly more laid-back but still offers a vibrant social scene. There is a strong sense of community and friendliness among students, and they take pride in their school's sustainability initiatives.
