Financial aid notifications from colleges?

Hey guys! So after submitting the FAFSA and CSS Profile, when do colleges actually tell you how much financial aid you're gonna get? Is it around the same time as the acceptance decisions? I'm just a little stressed about the whole financial aspect of attending college, any advice or experience would be great. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I totally understand the stress around the financial aspect of college. Generally, you should receive your financial aid package along with your acceptance decision. Most colleges send out financial aid notifications at the same time as their admission decisions, so you can get a better understanding of the overall cost of your education and make an informed decision when comparing schools.

Keep in mind that the exact timing may vary depending on the college and whether you applied early action, early decision, or regular decision. If you have already been admitted under rolling admissions or early action, some colleges may send out the financial aid package shortly after your acceptance, while others will wait until the regular decision notifications.

It's important to thoroughly review your financial aid award letter once you receive it. Take note of the grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities, and loans included. Feel free to reach out to the schools' financial aid offices if you have any questions or concerns about your package, or if you'd like to appeal for more aid based on your financial situation.

Lastly, it's always a great idea to continuously search for scholarships and grants outside what the college offers, to help cover any costs the school may not cover. Best of luck in your college journey!
