Providence vs Northeastern: Which school has stronger study abroad programs?

I'm really interested in study abroad opportunities and I'm currently deciding between Providence College and Northeastern University. Can anyone share their experiences with study abroad programs at either school? Which university offers more diverse and well-organized study abroad experiences?

Having studied the study abroad programs at both Providence College and Northeastern University, I can say that each offers unique opportunities for students. However, Northeastern seems to have a slight advantage in terms of the number of program offerings and the structure of their programs.

Northeastern's Global Experience Office (GEO) manages the study abroad experiences and offers over 180 programs in 70+ countries. They have specific programs tailored to different academic disciplines and have several partnerships with prestigious universities around the world. Northeastern also integrates their hallmark co-op program into the study abroad experience, allowing you to gain valuable global work experience while abroad. Their Dialogue of Civilizations program is also popular, consisting of short-term, faculty-led trips addressing specific themes and topics in different countries.

Providence College offers study abroad programs through their Center for Global Education. Some of their popular programs include semester and year-long exchanges with partner institutions or faculty-led programs during breaks. Although they offer fewer programs compared to Northeastern, Providence College still provides quality study abroad experiences in numerous countries and offers various options, such as internships and community service programs.

Ultimately, both institutions provide diverse and well-organized study abroad experiences. However, Northeastern University seems to offer more options and flexibility, particularly with their co-op opportunities and Dialogues of Civilizations program. Furthermore, the university's location in a major city like Boston may expose you to a more global and cosmopolitan environment even when you're not abroad. Additionally, Northeastern has invested more resources in expanding its global footprint and growing its international programs, reflecting their commitment to providing robust international experiences for their students.
