Hello everyone! I'm currently attending college outside of North Carolina, but I've been thinking about transferring to UNC. Does anyone know the out-of-state transfer acceptance rate? Thanks in advance for any help!
Hello! Although UNC-Chapel Hill doesn't specifically publish their out-of-state transfer acceptance rate, the overall transfer acceptance rate was 47% in 2021, according to their most recent Common Data Set (page 14): https://oira.unc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/297/2023/08/CDS_2021-22_20230825.pdf. There were 3,554 applicants and 1,666 accepted students.
To maximize your chances of being accepted, focus on maintaining strong academic performance, taking rigorous courses, and involvement in extracurricular activities aligned with your interests. Also, carefully craft your essays, as they provide a platform for showcasing your personal and academic growth as well as reasons for your interest in joining the UNC community.
Best of luck with your transfer application!
