Number of cadets at the United States Naval Academy?

Hey everyone, I'm a high school junior, and I've been considering applying to the U.S. Naval Academy for college. I was just curious, how many cadets attend the Naval Academy? Is it really competitive to get in? Any information would be helpful, thanks in advance!

Hello! The United States Naval Academy (USNA) typically has around 4,500 midshipmen enrolled at any given time, with approximately 1,200 students in each incoming class. In terms of competitiveness, it's definitely competitive to gain admission. The acceptance rate for the Naval Academy is typically around 8-9%, making it a highly selective institution.

To help strengthen your application, make sure to focus on academics, leadership, extracurricular involvement, and physical fitness. In addition to meeting the high academic standards, candidates must also pass a Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA) and obtain a congressional nomination (usually from a U.S. Representative or Senator) to be considered for admission.

Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or if there is additional information that you'd like regarding the U.S. Naval Academy. Good luck on your journey!
