BU RISE Internship or Practicum?

I'm considering applying to BU's RISE program, but I'm not sure whether to go for the internship or practicum option. Can you guys share your experiences or knowledge about the differences, what each entails, and which might be a better fit for a high school student?

The Boston University RISE program is a fantastic opportunity for high school students to gain a research experience in the sciences. The program offers two tracks: the Internship and the Practicum. Understanding the differences between the two will help you make the best decision for your interests and goals.

In the Internship track, students work with BU faculty on ongoing research projects in areas such as biology, chemistry, neuroscience, and engineering. This option allows you to gain hands-on research experience while being mentored by experts in the field. This track is ideal for students who want to dive into real-world research and learn what it's like to be a part of a research team. Keep in mind that this option may be more competitive, as many high school students are vying for limited spots on research teams.

The Practicum track, on the other hand, is designed for students who prefer a more structured learning environment. In this option, you'll participate in group research projects guided by BU faculty and graduate students. You'll explore the scientific process, develop research skills, and gain exposure to a variety of scientific disciplines.
