Fordham waitlist process

Has anyone here been on the Fordham waitlist or know someone who has been? What's the process like and when do they typically start taking people off the waitlist? Also, any tips on increasing my chances of being accepted from the waitlist would be great too. Thanks!

The Fordham waitlist process can be a bit uncertain, as it largely depends on how many admitted students choose to enroll at Fordham, creating available spots for waitlisted applicants. Historically, colleges start taking students off their waitlists after the May 1st decision deadline. However, this process can stretch throughout the summer and sometimes even into August as the college finalizes its incoming class.

To increase your chances of being accepted from the waitlist, consider taking the following steps:

1. Write a letter of continued interest (LOCI) to the Fordham admissions office, expressing your enthusiasm for the school and providing any updates on your academic or extracurricular achievements since you submitted your application. This adds new information to your profile and reinforces your desire to attend the university.

2. Stay in touch with the admissions office but be cautious of over-communicating. Update them occasionally if you have significant new achievements or information on your profile. However, excessive contact could be detrimental and come off as pushy.

3. If Fordham is your first choice, consider mentioning your commitment to attend if accepted in your letter of continued interest. Demonstrating your strong interest in the school may make you a more appealing candidate to the admissions office.

4. Keep your grades up and continue working diligently in your extracurriculars. Colleges want to see that you are maintaining your academic and extracurricular performance even during your senior year.

5. If you have not already done so, consider sending one additional strong letter of recommendation from someone who can provide new insights on your character, achievements, or potential.

Remember that while taking these steps can help improve your chances of being accepted from the waitlist, there is, unfortunately, no guarantee of a spot in the incoming class. It's essential to have a backup plan in place and be prepared to attend another college if needed.

Best of luck!
