Lehigh EA deadlines?

Hey, I'm planning to apply to Lehigh through Early Action. Does anyone know the deadlines for EA at Lehigh? Also, are there any tips or advice about applying EA to Lehigh?

Lehigh University in fact offers an Early Decision (ED) program, not Early Action (EA). There are two Early Decision rounds: ED I and ED II. The deadline for ED I is November 1, while the deadline for ED II is January 1. Unlike Early Action, Early Decision is a binding agreement, so you should be certain that Lehigh is your first choice before applying.

When applying ED to Lehigh, here are a few tips:

1. Demonstrate interest: Attend virtual or in-person information sessions, as Lehigh values demonstrated interest from applicants. Reach out to admissions representatives with any questions to show your enthusiasm.

2. Emphasize your fit: In your supplemental essays, highlight why Lehigh is the perfect match for you academically, socially, and personally. Mention any unique programs or opportunities the university offers that align with your goals and interests. CollegeVine's blog contains more detailed information about how to tackle Lehigh's supplemental essays: https://blog.collegevine.com/how-to-write-the-lehigh-university-essays.

3. Research Lehigh's core values: Understand what qualities and values Lehigh values in its students (such as inclusiveness, intellectual curiosity, etc.) and showcase these attributes within your application.

4. Earn strong standardized test scores: While Lehigh is officially test-optional, having an excellent SAT or ACT score to add to your application is never a bad thing. You can read more about test-optional policies on CollegeVine's blog: https://blog.collegevine.com/does-test-optional-mean-test-optional/.

5. Work on your application early: Don't procrastinate, as applying early means you need to have your application materials—such as essays, recommendations, and transcripts—ready ahead of time.

6. Apply for financial aid: If you need financial assistance, be sure to submit all required financial aid documents by their respective deadlines. Do be aware that while Lehigh is generally need-blind, in some select instances they may factor your financial need into their admissions decision. However, Lehigh does meet 100% of demonstrated need for admitted students, so if you're admitted under ED, you are likely to receive the aid you need.

Best of luck with your application to Lehigh!
