Can I apply to more than one Early Decision/Early Action school?

Hi, I'm considering applying to some schools through Early Decision or Early Action, but I'm not sure if I can apply to more than one. What are the rules regarding multiple Early Decision/Early Action applications? Thanks for any help!

Hello! It's great that you're considering applying Early Decision (ED) or Early Action (EA) to some schools. The main difference between the two is that Early Decision is binding, whereas Early Action is non-binding. In the case of ED, if you're accepted, you're committed to attending that school and must withdraw all other college applications. For EA, you can apply to multiple schools and aren't obligated to attend if accepted.

You can apply to multiple Early Action schools without any issue. However, you can only apply to one Early Decision school. Some schools also have a policy called Restricted Early Action (REA), which means you cannot apply to any other private schools' Early Decision or Early Action programs, but you may still apply to public schools' Early Action programs.

Make sure to carefully read the application requirements for each school to understand their specific rules. Best of luck on your college applications!
