Cornell research supplement

Hello! I'm applying to Cornell and I'm really into research opportunities they offer. I was wondering, do they have any research supplement as part of the application? Has anyone submitted one before? Thanks a lot!

Hello! While Cornell is well-known for its diverse research opportunities, they do not have a dedicated research supplement as part of the undergraduate application. However, this doesn't mean that you can't showcase your interest and passion for research in your application.

You can highlight your research experience and aspirations in the main part of your application by emphasizing them in your extracurricular activities, awards, or even by mentioning impactful research projects in your essays where it fits naturally. Also, make sure to pay attention to the "Why Cornell?" essay which is a required part of the application. This essay allows you to demonstrate your enthusiasm for Cornell's research offerings by discussing specific programs, professors, or centers that align with your interests.

If you've conducted significant research in the past or have a compelling research-related experience, consider using that as the focus of your extracurricular essay or personal statement if it truly speaks to your passions and helps paint a vivid picture of what you could contribute to the Cornell community.

Lastly, once you become a Cornell student, there are plenty of research opportunities for undergraduates to get involved in, so make sure to reach out to relevant faculty and research centers to explore the possibilities. Just keep in mind that the research supplement is not part of the application itself, but your genuine enthusiasm for research will still shine through if you incorporate it wisely throughout your application.
