GPA requirement for UC Santa Barbara?

Hi everyone! I've been doing some research on UC Santa Barbara, but I'm a little unsure about their GPA requirements. Does anyone know what their minimum GPA is or what they look for in an applicant's GPA? Thanks for helping out!

UC Santa Barbara, like other UC schools, uses a weighted capped GPA, which takes into account the grades you've received in A-G courses in 10th and 11th grade, as well as bonus points for honors/AP courses. The minimum GPA requirement for California residents applying to UC schools is 3.0, while for non-residents it is 3.4.

However, meeting the minimum GPA requirement does not guarantee your admission, as UCSB is a competitive school. It's important to remember that GPA is just one part of a holistic review process that considers various factors, such as extracurricular activities, personal statements, and letters of recommendation.

To improve your chances at UCSB, aim to maintain a strong GPA and demonstrate dedication and leadership in your extracurricular activities. In the meantime, continue researching other aspects of UCSB to get a full understanding of its academic and social offerings and how they align with your goals and interests.

Good luck with your college search and application process!
