Tulane Early Decision 2 Acceptance Rate: How does it compare?

Hello! I'm considering applying to Tulane via Early Decision 2. I know the acceptance rate for their Early Decision 1 program is higher than the Regular Decision rate, but I can't seem to find information on ED2 specifically. Does anyone know if the ED2 acceptance rate is significantly different from ED1 or RD at Tulane?

Hello! While schools usually don't publish the specific acceptance rates for each round of admission, you're correct that applying Early Decision (ED1 or ED2) generally provides a higher acceptance rate compared to Regular Decision (RD). This is mainly because students who apply through ED demonstrate a strong interest in the school and are committed to attend if admitted, which is appealing to colleges. Additionally, the applicant pool during ED might be smaller than RD, giving you a higher chance as well.

For Tulane, it's likely that the ED2 acceptance rate would be similar to ED1, though not as high as ED1 since the ED2 round may include more applicants. With that said, applying ED2 should still give you a better chance than applying RD. However, keep in mind that other factors like the strength of your application and fit with the school will ultimately play a larger role in your admission decision.

In summary, while the exact acceptance rate for ED2 at Tulane is not published, it is reasonable to assume that the ED2 acceptance rate would be higher than RD, though perhaps not as high as ED1. If you're certain that Tulane is your top choice, applying ED2 can be a strategic decision that could potentially increase your chances of admission. Good luck!
