Emory Admission Process Difficulty?

What's up everybody! I'm really interested in applying to Emory and I'm curious about the admission difficulty. How competitive is it? Is there anything special or unique about their application that I should be prepared for?

Hello! Emory University is a highly competitive institution. As of recent data, Emory's overall acceptance rate is around 11-13%, which places it in the category of highly selective schools. That being said, it's essential to present a strong application to increase your chances of admission.

While there isn't anything drastically unique about Emory's application process, there are a few key aspects you should pay attention to. Emory accepts the Common Application, and they will evaluate your application holistically, taking into account your academic record, extracurricular activities, recommendation letters, and essays.

Emory offers both Early Decision (I and II) and Regular Decision admission plans. Keep in mind that applying Early Decision can boost your chances because it shows commitment to the school; however, it is a binding decision, so only apply ED if you are certain Emory is your first choice.

For the supplemental essays, Emory currently requires two supplemental responses in addition to the main application personal statement. CollegeVine has an annually updated article with the most current prompts, along with in-depth advice on tackling them, which you can find here: https://blog.collegevine.com/how-to-write-the-emory-university-essays

Lastly, don't forget the importance of having strong letters of recommendation, a good GPA, a rigorous course load, and impressive extracurricular activities. These factors will help build a well-rounded application that shows you're a good fit for the Emory community.

Good luck with your application!
