Hello! I'm passionate about animation and I want to study it in college. Can anyone recommend some great college animation programs? It'd be awesome to know which college's program is the best and what other schools have really good animation programs.

Hello! It's great to hear that you're passionate about animation and looking to study it in college. Here are some top-notch college animation programs to consider:

1. California Institute of the Arts (CalArts): Often considered one of the best animation programs in the country, CalArts offers both bachelor's and master's degrees in Character Animation and Experimental Animation. The program is highly respected due to its strong connections with the industry (it was founded by Walt Disney himself) and its alumni's consistent success in film and television.

2. University of Southern California (USC): USC's School of Cinematic Arts has an excellent program in Animation & Digital Arts that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. The courses emphasize the intersection of art, animation, and technology, allowing students to work on diverse projects that often include collaborations with other departments.

3. Ringling College of Art and Design: Ringling's Computer Animation program is known for its strong emphasis on storytelling and character development. Students in this program learn various industry-standard animation software programs and have opportunities to work on team-based projects that simulate real-world studio environments.

4. Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD): SCAD offers several animation-related degrees, including a BFA and MFA in Animation. SCAD students benefit from a well-rounded curriculum that encompasses all aspects of animation production, from storyboarding and concept development to 3D modeling and animation.

5. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD): The Film/Animation/Video (FAV) program at RISD allows students to explore various animation techniques and processes, including traditional hand-drawn, stop-motion, and digital techniques. They're known for having strong courses in the fine arts as well as technology.

These are just a few examples of exceptional animation programs in the United States. Each college has its unique strengths and focuses, so it's crucial to research and visit these schools (if possible) to find the one that best aligns with your personal goals and interests. Good luck in your pursuit of animation studies!
