EA vs RD acceptance rate at Georgia Tech?

Hi! I'm thinking about applying to Georgia Tech and am debating between Early Action (EA) and Regular Decision (RD). Is there a significant difference in acceptance rates between these two options? Thanks in advance!

Hello! Although specific acceptance rates for EA typically aren't released publicly, Georgia Tech is known to have a higher acceptance rate during the EA round when compared to RD. This difference is due to the fact that EA applicants demonstrate strong interest in the school, by making the effort to complete their application well in advance of the regular deadline.

With that said, the difference in acceptance rates does not guarantee admission. Your chances of getting accepted depend on other factors as well, namely the strength of your application and how well you match Georgia Tech's institutional priorities. These factors are much more important than which round you apply in. Also keep in mind that Georgia Tech is a highly competitive school regardless of when you apply - the RD rate is about 16%, so although the EA rate is likely higher, it's still probably only in the 20-25% range.

However, if you have a completed application that showcases your achievements and genuine interest in the school, taking advantage of the EA boost may be a wise choice for you. But if you feel that your application could benefit from additional experiences or improvements during senior year, the RD round may make more sense for you.

Ultimately, the decision between EA and RD should be based on your personal situation and how confident you are in your application at the time of submission. Good luck with your application, and I hope this information helps!
