What SAT Score for Carnegie Mellon?

I'm planning on applying to Carnegie Mellon and I was wondering, from those who got accepted, what kind of SAT scores did you guys have? Is there a certain score range I should aim for?

While I can't provide personal experiences as a past applicant, I can give you a sense of the score range that Carnegie Mellon typically looks for based on the accepted students' profiles. Carnegie Mellon is a highly selective university, and having a competitive SAT score can certainly improve your chances of admission.

Based on recent data, the middle 50% SAT score range for admitted students at Carnegie Mellon is approximately 1500-1560. To be a competitive applicant, you would ideally want to aim for a score within this range, or even higher. However, it's important to keep in mind that the admissions process is holistic and will take into account various factors, like your grades, course rigor, extracurricular activities, and essays, in addition to your test scores.

If your SAT score falls below the middle 50% range, don't get discouraged, as it doesn't automatically disqualify you from consideration. Instead, focus on finding ways to strengthen other parts of your application, such as honing your writing skills for your essays or demonstrating strong involvement and leadership in extracurricular activities.

Lastly, remember that while an SAT score within the 1500-1560 range might improve your chances of admission at Carnegie Mellon, it's not a guarantee. The university will still thoroughly evaluate your application, taking into account the many aspects that contribute to your profile as a prospective student. Good luck with your application!
