When are SATs typically administered?

Hey everyone, I've been thinking about when to take the SAT and I'm wondering when they're usually offered throughout the year. What months should I be considering for my test date? Thanks in advance for any info!

Hello! The SAT is typically administered seven times throughout the year. Test dates are usually scheduled in the months of August, October, November, December, March, May, and June. It's essential to plan ahead and choose a test date that works best for you, while taking into account factors such as your academic workload, extracurricular commitments, and the time needed for preparation.

Remember to also consider your college application deadlines, as you'll need to have your SAT scores ready before those dates. You'll want to be especially proactive if you're thinking of applying Early Action or Early Decision anywhere, as those deadlines are typically in early November.

It's also always a good idea to check the specific dates the SAT will be offered on College Board's website, since they can occasionally change from year to year. Good luck with your test preparation!
