Writing the UC activities list - help?

I'm working on the UC application and not sure how to format my activities list. Any suggestions on what I should focus on or examples of well-done lists?

When creating your UC activities list, it's crucial to focus on highlighting your most significant and meaningful activities while providing clear and concise descriptions. Here are some tips for formatting and crafting your activities list:

1. Prioritize activities: List your activities in order of importance to you, with the most significant at the top. The UC application allows you to list up to 20 activities, so make sure to include those you've dedicated the most time and effort to and which had the most significant impact on your personal development.

2. Use specific details: Describe your activities using specific details, such as the number of hours per week and weeks per year you were involved, the position held, and any quantifiable achievements (e.g., funds raised, awards won, etc.). This helps admissions officers get a sense of your level of involvement and your accomplishments.

3. Be concise: Your activity description should be concise and to the point. You have a character limit of 350 characters (including spaces) to describe each activity. Make sure to focus on the most important aspects of the activity.

4. Highlight your role and impact: Clearly describe your role in the activity, emphasizing your leadership, initiative, creativity, or any other qualities that demonstrate your personal growth and development. Showcase the impact your involvement had on the activity, organization, or community.

5. Use active language: Use action verbs and concise language to describe your activities and accomplishments. This will help convey your level of commitment, your skills, and your dedication to the activity.

Here's an example of a well-written activity description for a UC application:

Activity: Debate Team

Description: Co-captain of varsity team for 2 years. Developed practice schedules and collaborated with coaches to train new members. Led team to three first-place regional finishes and a top 10 placement at the state championships.

By following these guidelines, you can create a well-organized and effective UC activities list that highlights your most significant extracurricular experiences and their impact on your personal development. Good luck with your application!
