Ranking Ivy Leagues

I know all the Ivy Leagues are great, but I'm curious to know if there's a general consensus on how they rank from best to worst. What are your thoughts?

While it's hard to definitively rank Ivy League schools since each one has its strengths and weaknesses, there is a common understanding for how they are usually ranked, mostly based on reputation, academics, and selectivity. Here's a general ranking, but keep in mind that this list might be different depending on one's personal criteria and goals:

1. Harvard University

2. Yale University

3. Princeton University

4. Columbia University

5. University of Pennsylvania

6. Brown University

7. Dartmouth College

8. Cornell University

This ranking is by no means set in stone and doesn't necessarily mean that a "higher-ranked" school is better for every student. Each Ivy League school has unique offerings, so it's crucial to consider your own preferences, career goals, and area of study when selecting a school. For example, if you're passionate about engineering, Cornell could be the best choice for you due to its strong programs in that field.

Take some time to research the specific programs, campus culture, and extracurricular opportunities at each school, and try to visit the campuses if possible to get a feel for the atmosphere. It's essential to find a school that aligns with your values, interests, and goals, as well as one where you'll feel comfortable and thrive academically and personally.
