UMD SAT score range?

Does anyone have an idea of what the average or range of SAT scores is for accepted students at the University of Maryland? I'm trying to see if my current score is competitive enough or if I should aim to improve it before applying. Thanks in advance!

The University of Maryland (UMD) is a moderately selective public university, and having a competitive SAT score can certainly improve your chances of being admitted. Although UMD is currently test-optional, SAT scores are still useful if you feel that they accurately represent your academic abilities and would strengthen your application.

For the University of Maryland, the middle 50% SAT score range for admitted students is typically around 1380-1510. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below 1380, 50% scored between 1380 and 1510, and 25% scored above 1510. If your SAT score falls within or above this range, you'll likely be competitive for admissions at UMD.

However, it's essential to remember that UMD, like many other colleges, takes a holistic approach to admissions, considering various aspects of your application rather than just test scores. Your GPA, extracurricular activities, essays, letters of recommendation, and other factors will also contribute to your overall application.

If your current SAT score is below 1380 or close to the lower end of the range, retaking the test and aiming for improvement might be beneficial. Additionally, consider strengthening other areas of your application, such as your extracurricular involvement and essay quality, to increase your chances of admission.

Good luck with your application, and I hope this information helps you in evaluating your current SAT score!
