What are Santa Clara University's SAT requirements?

I'm struggling trying to figure out the SAT score requirements for Santa Clara University. Could anyone provide some insight on their expectations for applicants? Is there a threshold I should meet or am I overthinking it?

Santa Clara University has adopted a test-optional policy for the 2022–2023 application cycle due to the ongoing pandemic, meaning you can choose whether to submit your SAT scores or not. However, if you decide to submit your test scores, there isn't an official "minimum" SAT score required. Instead, it's helpful to look at the range of scores accepted students typically have.

For reference, the middle 50% of admitted students for the class of 2027 had SAT scores ranging from 1300 to 1470. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below 1300, and 25% scored above 1470. So, while there's no strict threshold, aiming for a score within or above this range could increase your chances of being admitted.

That being said, Santa Clara University, like most schools, uses a holistic review process, which means they consider many factors beyond just your SAT score, such as your GPA, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation. If your score falls below the typical range, a strong overall application and accomplishments in other areas can still help you stand out as a competitive candidate.
