Hi there! It's awesome that you're considering pre-med with a major in biology. In order to help you find the best colleges for your path, I've compiled a list of top schools known for their strong biology programs, research opportunities, and pre-med resources:

1. Harvard University: Harvard has an excellent biology program and a plethora of research opportunities. They also provide extensive pre-med advising and resources for their students.

2. Stanford University: Stanford's biology department is renowned and offers great research opportunities as well. Their pre-med program includes comprehensive advising and support for students.

3. Johns Hopkins University: As a renowned research institution (much of the data used to make public health decisions during the pandemic, for example, came from studies conducted at Johns Hopkins) with strong ties to its medical school, Johns Hopkins offers a fantastic biology program and extensive research opportunities for undergraduate students.

4. University of Pennsylvania: UPenn provides unique and interdisciplinary opportunities in the fields of biology and medicine. Students can engage in research at various renowned institutes, including UPenn's own Perelman School of Medicine.

5. Duke University: Duke's emphasis on undergraduate research coupled with their top-tier biology program allows students to dive deep into the subject matter. Students also have access to Duke's medical school for additional research opportunities.

6. Washington University in St. Louis: WashU has a strong biology department with plenty of research opportunities and excellent pre-med advising. They also boast a high medical school placement rate for their pre-med students, and their own med school is typically ranked as one of the top 5 best in the country, so having access to some of those resources as an undergrad could give you a boost when it comes time to apply, even if you're aiming for a different institution.

7. University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA): UCLA has strong biology programs and a thriving research community which presents numerous opportunities for students interested in pre-med studies.

8. University of Michigan – Ann Arbor: UMich offers excellent biology programs and abundant research opportunities. Their pre-health advising helps students navigate the pre-med path and find research positions.

These are just some examples, and there are many other fantastic schools with strong biology programs and pre-med resources. When researching colleges, make sure to consider factors like location, size, and campus culture, in addition to their academic strengths, to be sure you'll be in an environment where you can thrive personally as well as intellectually. Good luck with your college search!
