Do colleges care about course rigor?

Hi guys, I'm a high school junior and I've been taking a mix of regular and honors classes. Would colleges prefer that I take more AP classes in my senior year, or do they not care too much about course rigor? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! It's great to hear that you're thinking about your college applications. In general, colleges do consider course rigor as a factor in their admissions decisions. They want to see that you've challenged yourself throughout high school and have taken advantage of the opportunities available to you. If you're able to take more AP classes in your senior year without sacrificing your overall academic performance or extracurricular involvement, it could be beneficial for your application. That said, it's important to strike a balance between challenging yourself and maintaining a manageable workload. Remember that colleges look at your application holistically, so it's important to showcase your strengths in various areas, not just in your course selection. Ultimately, it's about finding the right balance that works for you and allows you to present the best version of yourself. Best of luck with your college planning!
