SAT calculator recommendations?

Hey everyone, I'm currently prepping for the SAT and I'm wondering which calculator(s) are the best for the exam? Are there any specific features I should look out for? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Hey there! Great question. The SAT allows for both scientific and graphing calculators. While you can choose either, the majority of students tend to prefer graphing calculators for their versatility.

Two popular and recommended calculators are the TI-84 Plus CE and the TI-Nspire CX II. The TI-84 Plus CE is a user-friendly, widely-used graphing calculator that offers lots of functionality. The TI-Nspire CX II has more advanced capabilities and a sleeker design. Both calculators have been approved by the College Board for use on the SAT exam.

Some helpful features for the SAT include the ability to graph functions, perform matrix operations, store multiple equations, and calculate numerical derivatives and integrals. Make sure to familiarize yourself with whatever calculator you choose, as being comfortable with its functionality will be key during the exam.

Whichever calculator you choose, remember that you'll only be using it for one of the two Math sections (the calculator-allowed section). So, make sure you also practice your mental math and arithmetic skills for the non-calculator-based section. Good luck with your SAT prep!
