Women's rugby in college?

Hi there! I'm a high school junior and I've been playing rugby for a few years now. I'd love to continue playing on a women's rugby team in college. Do you guys have any suggestions for colleges that are known for their women's rugby teams? Thanks in advance!

Hello! It's great to hear that you're interested in continuing to play women's rugby in college. To give you a headstart, here are some colleges and universities that have well-regarded women's rugby programs:

1. Harvard University - Located in Cambridge, MA, Harvard consistently fields a strong women's rugby team that participates in NCAA Division I.

2. Quinnipiac University - Based in Hamden, CT, Quinnipiac has an excellent women's rugby team that competes in NCAA Division I.

3. Dartmouth College - Located in Hanover, NH, Dartmouth also has a competitive women's rugby team in NCAA Division I.

4. Penn State University - Situated in University Park, PA, Penn State has a strong women's rugby team that won six national championships from 2012-2017.

5. Brown University - Based in Providence, RI, Brown is another university with a successful NCAA Division I women's rugby program.

6. West Chester University - Located in West Chester, PA, West Chester University's women's rugby team is part of the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) and has achieved considerable success at the national level.

These are just a few examples of colleges with strong women's rugby programs. Keep in mind that while some schools have NCAA Division I programs, others may have club-level teams that are still competitive and enjoyable to participate in. I recommend researching each of these schools further to see which one might be the right fit for you academically and athletically.

Additionally, don't hesitate to reach out to the coaches at these schools to express your interest and find out more about the recruitment process. Best of luck to you in your rugby and college search!
