When are SATs usually administered?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to plan my junior year and was wondering when the SATs are typically given throughout the year. Are there certain months I should be aware of? Thanks in advance!

Hey! The SAT is administered by the College Board and is typically offered seven times a year. The tests take place in the following months: March, May, June, August, October, November, and December. However, the schedule can vary slightly each year, so it's important to keep an eye on the College Board's website for specific test dates.

To help with planning your junior year, it's recommended that you aim to take your first SAT in the spring of junior year (March, May, or June). Doing so gives you enough time to learn the material and prepare during the year, and, if you're not satisfied with your score, you can retake the test in the fall of senior year (August, October, or November) - just make sure your retake plan ensures you'll have your results before your first application deadlines, especially if you're planning on applying early anywhere, as those deadlines will usually be in early November.

Good luck with your preparations and remember to give yourself plenty of time to prepare for the exam!
