Do colleges care about senior year grades?

Hey everyone! I'm a junior and I've heard that senior year grades aren't as important for college admissions since most applications are due before the year is over. Is this true, or should I still focus on maintaining my GPA during senior year? Thanks for your input!

Hi there! It's a common misconception that senior year grades don't matter as much. While it's true that college applications are due before the end of your senior year, many colleges still do consider your senior year performance. They might request your mid-year or even final transcripts before making a decision or after you've been accepted. In some cases, a significant drop in your grades during senior year could lead to a rescinded offer of admission. So, it's definitely a good idea to continue focusing on your GPA and maintaining a strong academic record throughout your senior year. Additionally, keeping up your grades can also be important for scholarship applications and for demonstrating your continued commitment to your education. In short, don't let senioritis get the best of you, and keep working hard until the very end! Best of luck!
