UPenn admissions statistics?

Hey guys! I'm thinking about applying to UPenn and I'm trying to figure out how competitive it is. Does anyone have any info on their admissions statistics like acceptance rates, average test scores, and GPA? I'd appreciate any insights. Thank you!

Hey there! Applying to UPenn is certainly an exciting prospect. Here are some of the statistics you're looking for:

Acceptance Rate: UPenn is highly competitive, with an acceptance rate of around 6-8%. Keep in mind that this rate may vary between their different undergraduate schools (College of Arts & Sciences, Wharton School of Business, School of Engineering and Applied Science, and School of Nursing).

Average Test Scores: Before UPenn became test-optional, the middle 50% range for SAT scores was around 1500-1570, while the middle 50% ACT range was around 34-35. Note that UPenn is currently test-optional, and this policy may continue, so test scores are not as important as they used to be.

Average GPA: The average unweighted GPA for admitted students is approximately 3.9/4.0. However, UPenn will definitely look at the rigor of your course load, such as the number of AP or IB classes you've taken, so keep that in mind as well.

Remember that these statistics are just an overview, and admissions to top-tier schools like UPenn will undoubtedly be holistic. College admissions committees consider various factors, including extracurricular activities, essays, letters of recommendation, and demonstrated interest, in addition to academic achievements. So, make sure you have a well-rounded and compelling application to increase your chances!
