Minimum GPA to graduate college?

I know that GPA requirements can vary by school and major, but I was wondering if there's a general minimum GPA that you need to graduate college. Is there a standard GPA that colleges typically expect students to maintain in order to graduate? Thanks for your help!

There isn't a universal minimum GPA for graduation, but there are some common benchmarks across many colleges and universities. Typically, a minimum GPA of 2.0 (C average) is required to graduate. However, this can vary depending on the individual institution and specific program of study. Some colleges and majors may have higher minimum GPA requirements, especially for specialized or competitive fields.

In addition, some colleges may enforce minimum GPAs for individual classes as well. For example, students in certain majors might be required to maintain at least a C or higher in all major-specific courses in order to graduate with that degree.

Beyond GPA requirements, colleges may also have other requirements for graduation, such as completing a certain number of credit hours, fulfilling a set number of general education classes, and meeting residency requirements (the number of credit hours you must complete at the institution).

It's important to refer to your college's specific policies and consult with an academic advisor to make sure you meet all graduation requirements for your chosen major. Keep in mind that maintaining a higher GPA can have other benefits, such as making you more competitive for internships, job opportunities, and graduate programs.
