Questions to ask current college students?

I'm in the process of deciding which college to attend, and I have the chance to talk to some current students about their experiences. What kind of questions should I ask in order to get a better understanding of the school and its culture?

When speaking with current college students, you'll want to ask questions that dive into various aspects of the college, including academics, campus life, and support systems. Here are some questions to consider asking:

1. What is the workload like in your major or department? Do professors often assign group projects, or is most of the coursework individual?

2. How accessible are professors outside of class? Are they involved in students' academic and professional development?

3. Can you share your experience with academic advising? Were your advisors helpful in guiding you through course selection, internships, and post-graduation plans?

4. What clubs or organizations are popular on campus? How easy is it to get involved, and are students encouraged to join multiple clubs or focus on one or two?

5. What is the campus life like outside of academics? Are there traditions, events or activities that showcase the school's culture?

6. How is the food and housing situation? Are there a variety of options, and do students feel comfortable and supported in their living arrangements?

7. How diverse is the student body? Does the college make efforts to foster inclusivity on campus and help students from diverse backgrounds feel comfortable?

8. How would you describe the social atmosphere on campus? Are there various options for students with different interests, and do people typically stay on campus or venture into the surrounding area for social activities?

9. How focused are students on professional development, internships, and networking? Does the school have strong connections with companies and organizations in your area of interest?

10. If you could change anything about the school, what would it be and why?
