How do I decide on a major?

Hey everyone, I'm a junior and I'm starting to think about what I want to major in when I go to college. I have a lot of interests, but I'm not sure which one to focus on. How did you decide on a major? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi there! It's great that you're thinking about your major early on. When faced with a similar situation, my child found it helpful to explore their interests in depth. Try to take classes, attend workshops, or participate in extracurricular activities related to your interests while you're still in high school. This will give you a better idea of what subjects you're truly passionate about and may help you narrow down your options. Additionally, you can research potential careers related to those subjects and see if any of those career paths resonate with you. Don't be afraid to reach out to professionals in those fields to get a better understanding of what their day-to-day work is like. Lastly, remember that many students change their major during college, so it's not set in stone. Keep an open mind and don't stress too much about choosing the perfect major right away. Focus on finding something that you genuinely enjoy and can see yourself pursuing long-term. Good luck!
