Ivy League Dental Schools

Hi all! I'm planning on pursuing dentistry and I'm curious about dental schools affiliated with Ivy League universities. Do any Ivy League schools have dental programs? Thanks in advance!

Hi there! Some Ivy League institutions have dental schools, while others don't. Currently, there are two Ivy League universities with dental schools:

1. University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine: This is one of the prestigious dental schools in the United States and offers a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program. Their program emphasizes clinical practice and research, and students have the opportunity to participate in community outreach and international dental programs.

2. Harvard School of Dental Medicine: Another prestigious dental institution, Harvard School of Dental Medicine offers a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program. Their curriculum is integrated with Harvard Medical School, which means dental students take classes alongside medical students for the first two years of the program, fostering a unique interdisciplinary learning experience. While the other Ivy League universities like Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Princeton, and Yale do not have dental programs, many of those institutions have strong pre-dental advising for students looking to pursue dentistry after they complete their undergraduate degrees. In those cases, students would apply to dental schools outside of the Ivy League during their junior or senior years of undergrad.
