Average PSAT score for getting into Harvard?

Hey guys, I'm planning on applying to Harvard and I wanted to know what's the average PSAT score for students who got in? I know it's just one factor, but I'd like to have an idea of where I stand. Thanks in advance!

Hi there! While the PSAT score might give you a rough estimate of your performance on the SAT, it's important to note that Harvard and other colleges don't use PSAT scores directly for admission decisions. Instead, they consider your SAT or ACT scores, along with other factors in your application, such as your GPA, extracurriculars, and essays.

That being said, Harvard is an extremely competitive school, so you should aim for a high PSAT score that would translate into a strong SAT score. To put it in context, the middle 50% of admitted students at Harvard typically have an SAT score between 1490 and 1580. However, keep in mind that Harvard, like many other top-tier schools, practices a holistic review process, which takes into account many other factors beyond just test scores.

So, while a high PSAT score can be a good indicator of future SAT performance, it is essential to focus on building a well-rounded application that showcases your strengths in multiple areas. Ultimately, it's your SAT or ACT scores, along with the other aspects of your profile, that will play a more significant role in your chances of admission to Harvard. Good luck with your application journey!
