What's a good SAT score for UC schools?

I recently got a 720 on my SAT, and I'm interested in applying to some UC schools. Is this score competitive enough for these schools, or should I retake the test?

While the University of California (UC) system has adopted a test-blind policy and no longer considers SAT scores as part of the admissions process, it's important to be aware of the general competitiveness of these schools. Just a couple of years ago, most UC schools would require a significantly higher SAT score to be considered competitive.

However, now that SAT scores are not being reviewed, it's important to focus on other aspects of your application. Since your SAT score is quite a bit below what the UCs would have been expecting, you'll want to make sure you grades, course rigor, and extracurricular profile are more within the range of what UC admissions officers typically look for.

It is also important to note that each UC campus has its unique requirements and competitive aspects, as application standards can vary. Researching each campus in depth and aligning your application to the particular strengths of the schools you're interested in can boost your chances of admission.

In summary, don't worry about your SAT score when applying to UC schools, but do be mindful of how your overall application stacks up. Good luck with your applications!
