UC Admissions: Rolling or Not?

I've heard conflicting information about UC admissions. Are they rolling admissions, or do they have a set decision date? Just want to make sure I have the right info. Thanks in advance!

UC schools do not utilize rolling admissions. Instead, they have a set application window and release decisions at specific times, usually during the spring. The application for the University of California (UC) system typically opens on August 1, and the deadline to submit your application is November 30. You can submit as early as October 1st, but there is no benefit to submitting in advance - although you do want to avoid waiting until the very last minute to avoid any last-minute technical issues or delays.

UC schools also release admissions decisions within a specified time frame. Each UC campus has its own date range for releasing decisions, typically between mid-March and late April, but all applicants to a particular campus do hear back on the same day - you don't hear back earlier if you submitted earlier. You'll receive a notification when admissions decisions are available on the respective campus portals. It's essential to be aware of each campus's decision release schedule, so you'll know when to check for your results. Good luck with your application to the UC schools!
