AP Award information

Hi! I heard that students can receive awards for their AP scores. When do AP awards come out? Thanks!

Hi there! Yes, you're right, the College Board offers a variety of awards to recognize students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement through their performance on AP exams. The main AP awards include:

1. AP Scholar: Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.

2. AP Scholar with Honor: Awarded to students who have an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

3. AP Scholar with Distinction: Presented to students who have an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

4. State AP Scholar: Granted to the top male and female students in each U.S. state based on the highest average score on the greatest number of AP exams.

5. National AP Scholar: Awarded to students in the United States who have an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

AP award notifications are typically sent in mid-July. Students can find their AP award(s) in their College Board account, under the "Awards and Certificates" section. Keep in mind that these awards don't have a direct impact on college admissions, but they do showcase your dedication to academic excellence and can be mentioned in your college applications to demonstrate your strong performance in advanced courses.

Best of luck and congratulations on your hard work in AP classes!
