Graphic design colleges in Florida?

Hey guys! I'm really passionate about graphic design and I'm currently looking at colleges in Florida. Can anyone recommend some good schools in the state with strong graphic design programs? I'm open to both big universities and small colleges!

Hi there! It's great that you're interested in pursuing graphic design in Florida. There are several schools in the state that offer strong graphic design programs, and they vary in terms of size and setting, so you'll have some good options to choose from. I've listed a few you might want to check out:

1. University of Florida (UF) - UF's College of the Arts has a Graphic Design BFA program where you'll develop a solid foundation of traditional skills and also learn cutting-edge digital technologies. The curriculum covers various design principles, typography, motion graphics, and more.

2. Florida State University (FSU) - FSU offers a BFA in Studio Art with a focus on Graphic Design. You'll dive deep into the creative process and learn about printmaking, web design, and other aspects of multimedia design. FSU also offers an MFA in Studio Art so you could potentially continue your education there if you're interested in grad school later on.

3. Ringling College of Art and Design - Located in Sarasota, Ringling is known for its strong art and design programs. As a Graphic Design student, you'll have access to state-of-the-art equipment and workstations, as well as experienced faculty who can provide invaluable guidance and mentorship. Ringling's BFA in Graphic Design program covers everything from branding to interactive design.

4. Full Sail University - Based in Winter Park, Full Sail offers a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design, which focuses on the technical and practical aspects of the field. The coursework includes branding, web design, print design, animation, and other digital media applications. Full Sail has an accelerated program structure, which means you could potentially earn your degree in a shorter amount of time than at a traditional university.

5. New World School of the Arts - Located in Miami and affiliated with both Miami Dade College and the University of Florida, New World School of the Arts has a BFA program in Visual Arts with concentrations in the areas of graphic design, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and other media. The curriculum emphasizes both traditional techniques and digital technologies.

These are just a few options to get you started. Make sure to visit each school's website, reach out to admissions offices, and try to visit campuses if you can in order to get a feel for which program best suits your needs. Good luck with your college search!
