Truman State Division: Athletics Competitiveness?

Hey, can anyone give me some info about the athletics program at Truman State University? Like what division do they compete in and how competitive are their sports teams? I'm thinking about applying there and would love to continue playing my sport in college.

Truman State University competes in NCAA Division II and is a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). The university offers a variety of intercollegiate sports for both men and women, including basketball, cross country, football, soccer, swimming, and track and field for men, and basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball for women.

In terms of competitiveness, Truman State has a solid athletic program with several sports teams that have achieved success in recent years. While they may not be as competitive as Division I schools, Division II still offers a high level of competition along with a more balanced emphasis on academics and athletics. Keep in mind that the level of competitiveness can vary between different sports and teams at the university.

If you're interested in continuing to play your sport in college, I'd recommend reaching out to the coaches of the team you're interested in joining at Truman State to get more information about the specific team's competitiveness, tryout processes, and any potential opportunities for walk-on spots or athletic scholarships. Additionally, attending an athletic event at Truman State or watching online streams can be a great way to get a feel for the atmosphere and level of competition.

It's also worth considering how your athletic commitment will fit into your overall college experience. While participating in collegiate sports can be a rewarding and memorable part of your time at college, it's important to strike the right balance between athletics, academics, and other aspects of campus life. So, you'll also want to make sure the overall vibe of Truman State feels like a good fit for you.

Best of luck with your future athletic endeavors!
