How to decide on a major for my college applications?

Hello everyone! I'm currently a junior in high school, and I'm starting to think about what I want to study in college. I have a few interests, but I'm not sure which one to choose as my major. How did you decide on your major, and do you have any advice for someone in my situation? Thanks in advance!

Hello! It's great that you're already thinking about your major while still in high school. When my child was in your position, we went through a similar process. One thing that helped was to list out their interests and then prioritize them based on their passion and strengths. It's important to consider not only what you enjoy, but also what you're good at since this can impact your future success in the field. Also, do some research on potential careers and job prospects associated with each major, as that can be a factor to consider when making your decision. Another tip is to reach out to people who are pursuing or have pursued the majors you're interested in. They can provide valuable insights about the coursework, job opportunities, and challenges they faced. Finally, remember that you don't need to have everything figured out right now. Many colleges allow you to enter undeclared and explore different subjects before choosing a major. This could give you the opportunity to take a few courses in your areas of interest and make a more informed decision. Good luck, and I hope this helps!
