Hey everyone! I was looking into Puget Sound University and couldn't find much information on their athletics division. Can anyone fill me in on what division they're in, and what sports they offer?
Hello! The University of Puget Sound (in Tacoma, Washington) is a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Northwest Conference. Being a Division III school, their emphasis is on the student-athlete experience, with a greater balance between academics and sports.
Puget Sound offers a variety of varsity sports for both men and women. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, and indoor and outdoor track & field. Women's sports include basketball, crew, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, indoor and outdoor track & field, and volleyball. Additionally, Puget Sound has a co-ed sailing team.
Bear in mind that Division III schools do not offer athletic scholarships, but they do offer other forms of financial aid based on need, merit, or other achievements. If you're interested in participating in sports at Puget Sound, it's a good idea to reach out to the respective coaches or visit the University of Puget Sound Athletics website for more information on the specific sport you're interested in. Good luck!
