Minimum GPA for Brown University applicants?

I'm thinking of applying to Brown University, however, I'm worried that my GPA might not be high enough. What GPA do you guys think is generally considered competitive for Brown applicants? Would appreciate any input!

Brown University is a highly competitive Ivy League school, and generally, successful applicants have a strong GPA. While there is no official minimum GPA for Brown, you can get a rough idea of what is considered competitive by looking at the academic profiles of accepted students.

For the class of 2027, 93% of accepted students were in the top 10% of their high school class. Although Brown doesn't publish average GPAs, this indicates that most successful applicants had quite high GPAs, likely in the range of 3.8-4.0 (unweighted) or even higher if their school uses weighted GPAs.

Keep in mind, however, that admissions to Brown (as with other top colleges) involve a broad, holistic review of each applicant. Your GPA is just one part of your overall application. They also consider factors like course rigor, test scores (if submitted), extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation. So even if your GPA isn't as high as you'd like, it's crucial to make sure other aspects of your application stand out.

If you feel your GPA might be a weakness in your application, you can still try to compensate by showcasing your talents and achievements in other areas. Strong extracurricular involvement, well-written essays, and glowing recommendation letters can help round out your application and demonstrate your potential for success at Brown. Good luck!
