Emory SAT requirements?

Hey everyone, I'm a junior and looking into applying to Emory next year. I was wondering if anybody knows the average SAT scores for admitted students or the general range they're looking for. I know test-optional policies have become more common, but I want to get a sense of whether my score makes the cut or if I should consider applying test-optional instead.

Hello! Emory University is a competitive institution and does have a test-optional policy, which allows you to choose whether or not to submit your standardized test scores. If you feel that your SAT scores aren't reflective of your academic abilities, you can apply test-optional and your application will still be thoroughly reviewed.

That being said, if you want to get a sense of the average SAT scores of admitted students, Emory's middle 50% SAT score range for the Class of 2027 was between 1450 and 1530. This means that 25% of students scored below 1450 and another 25% scored above 1530. Although there's no strict "cutoff" point, aiming for a score in that range or higher can boost your application.

If your SAT score falls significantly below the middle 50% range, it might be better to consider applying test-optional, especially if you have a strong GPA, rigorous coursework, and compelling extracurricular activities that can showcase your abilities.

Ultimately, the decision depends on your individual profile, and it's essential to focus on both your academics and extracurriculars to create a well-rounded application. Good luck with your college application process!
