What's the location of BYU Idaho like?

I'm considering attending BYU Idaho for college, and I wanted to know more about the school's location. What's Rexburg like in terms of climate, things to do, and overall campus environment? Thanks in advance!

Rexburg, where BYU Idaho is located, is a small town in Southeastern Idaho. The climate in Rexburg is characterized by cold winters and mild summers. During winter months, temperatures can drop below freezing, and snow is common, which can affect your commute and your ability to do outdoor activities. In the summer, temperatures can rise to the 80s, which is generally ideal for outdoor activities.

In terms of things to do, the options are somewhat limited compared to a larger city; however, Rexburg does offer several wholesome activities for students. There are local parks, a movie theater, a few restaurants, and small shops. The town is also near Yellowstone National Park, which is great for hiking and exploring, and Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, which offer skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Rexburg is about 30 minutes away from Idaho Falls, which has more shopping and dining options.

The overall campus environment at BYU Idaho is unique. The school is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has a religious focus. The campus culture is centered around strong values and an honor code that emphasizes academic honesty, modesty in dress, and adherence to the university's religious principles. The majority of the student body is made up of members of the Church, and the spiritual atmosphere on campus tends to be supportive and uplifting.

While Rexburg may not offer the bustling city experience that some other universities do, it provides a smaller, tight-knit Mormon community where students can grow academically, spiritually, and socially. If you're comfortable with the religious aspects and value a more wholesome and focused environment, BYU Idaho can be a great fit!
