Getting into UCLA with easy majors

Hey everyone, I'm planning to apply to UCLA and am wondering if there are any 'easy' majors that might increase my chances of getting accepted. What are some majors at UCLA that are perceived as less competitive or easier to get into? Thanks in advance!

While it's true that some majors at UCLA can be less competitive than others, it's important to keep in mind that choosing your major based solely on perceived ease is not the best approach to college admissions. UCLA and other schools strongly emphasize finding a major that aligns with your interests, strengths, and career goals, as they want you to pursue a field of study that you are genuinely passionate about succeeding in, not one that will allow you to "game the system" during admissions.

That being said, it's worth noting that majors within the most popular fields usually have the highest demand for applicants. At UCLA, these fields typically include engineering, computer science, and business. On the other hand, majors in the humanities or some social sciences may be relatively less competitive due to lower demand.

However, remember that the University of California (UC) system, including UCLA, considers applicants for the university as a whole, rather than strictly by major. UCLA uses a holistic review process, by evaluating academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, essays, and many other factors. While your intended major can be a factor in their evaluation, it's far from the only one, or even the most important one.

Ultimately, the best strategy for applying to UCLA, or any other college, is to choose a major that genuinely interests you and reflects your strengths. UCLA wants to see that you're well-prepared for your chosen field of study, so choosing something that doesn't align with your interests can be counterproductive.

Rather than focusing too much on your intended major, concentrate on the areas of your application that could have a bigger impact on your chances of acceptance, like your personal essays.
