SAT test sections and format

Hello everyone, as I prepare for the SAT, I want to understand the test layout better. How many sections are on the SAT test and what subjects do they cover? Are they all multiple-choice?

Hello! Understanding the SAT test layout is essential for better preparation. The SAT consists of four main sections:

1. Reading: This section includes 52 multiple-choice questions, testing your reading comprehension skills based on passages from literature, history, and social studies, along with science-related articles. You'll have 65 minutes to complete this section.

2. Writing and Language: In this section, you'll be given 44 multiple-choice questions that test your grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure skills. You'll need to revise and edit passages, which are often accompanied by graphics like tables or charts. You'll have 35 minutes to complete the Writing and Language section.

3. Math - No Calculator: This part of the SAT contains 20 questions: 15 multiple-choice and 5 grid-in questions where you need to write the answer. You'll be tested on algebra, advanced math, problem-solving, data analysis, and some geometry and trigonometry concepts. You're not allowed to use a calculator in this section, which you'll have 25 minutes to finish.

4. Math - Calculator: This section allows calculator usage and consists of 38 questions: 30 multiple-choice and 8 grid-in questions. The math concepts tested are similar to the no-calculator section, with an emphasis on algebra, advanced math, problem-solving, and data analysis. You have 55 minutes to complete this part.
