Top colleges to go for soccer?

Hey all, I'm a junior, and I've been playing soccer competitively throughout high school. I'd really love to continue playing in college. Does anyone know some top colleges with great soccer teams/programs, both in terms of athletics and academics? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! It's awesome that you want to continue playing soccer in college while also focusing on academics. There are quite a few colleges and universities that have a strong soccer program as well as an excellent academic reputation. Here are some top colleges to consider:

1. Stanford University: Stanford has top-notch academics and a highly competitive men's and women's soccer program. They have both won national championships in the past.

2. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: UNC is known for its strong women's soccer program, having won multiple national championships. The men's team is also competitive in the ACC.

3. Duke University: Both the men's and women's soccer teams at Duke are highly competitive in the ACC. Duke has a great balance of strong athletics and academics.

4. Georgetown University: Georgetown has a competitive men's soccer team, which has won the Big East championship several times, and a women's team that has been successful in the NCAA tournament. The university is also renowned for its academics.

5. University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA): The men's and women's soccer teams at UCLA have been successful in their conference and have made deep runs in the NCAA tournament. The university is also known for its strong academics and vibrant campus life.

6. University of Notre Dame: Both Notre Dame's men's and women's soccer teams have had success in recent years, with the men's team winning the national championship in 2013. The university has a strong academic reputation as well.

7. University of Virginia: UVA has strong men's and women's soccer teams, and both have won national championships in the past. The university is well-known for its academics and beautiful campus.

These are just a few examples of top colleges with strong soccer programs and academics. There are many more across the country, so I encourage you to research more schools and divisions (such as D1, D2, or D3) to find the right fit for you. Keep in mind that you should also consider the academic programs and campus culture when selecting schools. Good luck with your search, and I hope you find the perfect college for your athletic and academic pursuits!
